Vision
In Nemezhis St. Rapolas Kalinauskas Secondary School 2 languages are used in order to cherish national communities’ traditions and culture.
Nemezhis St. Rapolas Kalinauskas Secondary School is an educational institution based on democratic principles which realizes elementary, basic and secondary educational programmes in Lithuanian and Polish. It also provides with public standardised education and fully satisfies pupil’s needs of learning and self-expressiveness.
Nemezhis St. Rapolas Kalinauskas Secondary School is a modern school, provided with modern informational technologies, where high moral values are stimulated. A person becomes an up-to-date person alike who respects his/her own country. He/she is also responsible for and does not belittle his/her culture and mother tongue. A person is educated in safe and aesthetic atmosphere by competent and qualified teachers’ community. He/she is taught to humanize and democratize human beings’ relations among members of different national communities.
 Mission
 
The present mission of school is rather successfully fulfilled.
Education is organised in the Lithuanian and Polish languages.
Students are encouraged to learn and get ready for living and acting out in society; good preparation for the future studies is ensured.
Creativity of every student is stimulated and fostered considering his/her inclinations, capabilities and the overall personal growth; the chance of taking the initiative and responsibility is suggested. A good citizen of Lithuania is raised, the one cherishing human dignity and self-respect, able to socialise and cooperate. Harmonious personal development is inspired.
The students are enabled to get acquainted, realize and cherish Lithuanian historical and cultural heritage, perceive the citizen’s rights and duties in a democratic state.
The students are under the conditions to adopt communicative language skills necessary for a man of Europe.

The school year is divided into 2 half yearly terms (1-4 classes, 11-12 classes)

                       12 th classes (the end of the teaching year) – 2009 05 16

School Holidays:
Autumn holidays – from 26  October, 2009 till 30 October, 2009
Christmas holidays – 24 December, 2010 – 5 January, 2010
Easter holidays – 29 March, 2010 – 2 April, 2010
Extra holidays for students of the 1 st – 5  th forms are given from:
8 February , 2010 till 12 February, 2010
6 April, 2010 till 12 April, 2010
Evaluation
 
1-4 formers are given ideographic evaluation of subjects.
5-12 formers are given 10 number scale.
5 formers are given adaptation.
The 5 formers do not get marks the first month. Pupils’ achievements are not checked by quizzes – teachers use individual methods of checking. Fail marks are not written during the 2 nd month and they are fixed (but not written in diaries) during the 3 rd month. Characteristics are analysed. Furthermore, general parents and teachers meetings are organised in order to discuss learning results.
11-12 formers learn in modal groups according to the individual learning plan. The school offers conditions for studies according to individual, adapted and modified programmes.
